9005 HID Conversion Kits and Bulbs
Many vehicle manufacturers use 9005 (also known as HB3) bulbs as high beams when coupled with a separate low beam bulb. Halogen bulbs operate at 55 watts and have an average life span of 1,000 hours of run time. HID bulbs operate at 35 watts and can last 3-4 times longer.

If you have a daytime running light (DRL) system on your low beam, you will need to disable it or bypass it by tapping another 12v source like a parking light. Disabling a DRL system is different for every vehicle. To find information for your particular vehicle please browse LightsOut.org.
